Established in Bergen during 2004, SAHG, is a traditional Doom / Heavy Metal band drawing on members of extreme Norwegian acts such as GORGOROTH and JOTUNSPOR's rhythm section of bassist King Ov Hell (a.k.a. Tom Cato Visnes) and drummer Kvitrafn (Einar Selvik), MANNGARD singer Olav Iversen and AUDREY HORNE guitar player Thomas Tofthagen. Kvitrafn also has prior credits with DET HEDENSKE FOLK, BAK DE SYV FJELL and SIGFADER. King ov Hell has association with I, DERIDE and PARADOGS. Tofthagen has also performed as member of the PAUL DIANNO band.
Regain Records snapped the band up following an appearance at the August 2005 'Hole In The Sky' festival and issued the debut album, 'Sahg 1', in April 2006, debuting at number 31 on the Norwegian charts. US dates followed in September, sharing the stage with 1349 and CELTIC FROST.
Sessions for a second SAHG album, which saw Brynjulv Guddal performing triple duty as drummer, engineer and co-producer, would be mixed during September 2007 by ex-ANTHRAX guitarist Rob Caggiano.
