Warmen Информация о группе Warmen started off as a joke when Sami and Mirka were drinking with janne and said that if janne ever creates a solo project, then they wanted to be in it. Janne replied with "yeh, sure ok" but didnt really take it seriously. He'd met Sami and Mirka because they worked in a music shop where he buys all his products. Half a year after Sami and Mirka had asked Janne about the solo project, he had come up with plenty of riffs and songs that weren't suitable for Children of Bodom and realised that he could actually play in the band with them. He then contacted Spinefarm and asked them if they would release it if he recorded it and they were like "Hell Yeah". As soon as janne heard the news he rang up the two guys and said "Hey lets do it right now!!" They started writing riffs and songs and soon enough recorded the album "Unknown Soldier". "Unknown Soldier" was mainly instrumental but had 2 songs featuring guest vocals from Kimberly Goss on the tracks "Devil?s Mistress", "Fire Within" and the bonus track "Dead Reflection". It was released in 2000 and Warmen then played a gig at the spinefarm's 10year anniversary with Kimberly Goss on vocals at Tavastia in Finland and a show which was played on Jyrki, a Finnish Tv channel, Kimberly did not sing in jyrki though, It was Pasi Rantanen from thunderstone. The track titles were thourght up by the spinefarms A&R guy. It was recorded at Sonic Pump and Warmen Production Studios (Now called Beyond Abilities Studio) except track 9 (Piano intro to) which was recorded at Finnvox studio by M.Karmila. It was then all mixed at Finnvox studio by M.Karmila. In 2001 "Alone" was released as a single with the bonus track "Dead Reflection" off "Unknown Soldier". Both these tracks have Vocals by Kimberly Goss on them and they were both played on Finnish radio. Later that year, Warmen released there second studio album "Beyond Abilities". This album had a few more tracks with vocals on including Timo Kotipelto on "Spark" and "Singers Chance", Kimberly Goss on "Alone" and "hidden" and Pasi Nyk?nen on the song "Dawn", Janne found Pasi Nyk?nen when he was in a bar in Helsinki and a drunk man was singing at the top of his voice. He is also in Throne of Chaos. At the release of this album Warmen became more of a band than just a solo project including more interesting intrumental songs and more songs with vocals. The band also had a better line up, including Jannes brother, Antti. Janne and Antti get along really well and understand each other really well, this helps Janne when they are writing and recording. Beyond Abilities is also available in America through Century Media Records.
