Информация о группе CIRCLE II CIRCLE is the band formed by former SAVATAGE vocalist Zak Stevens. The group signed to Andy Allendörfer of SQUEALER's AFM Records label for a debut 2003 album 'Watching In Silence'. The record included four song-writing collaborations apiece shared between Stevens and erstwhile SAVATAGE colleagues singer Jon Oliva and guitarist CHRIS CAFFERY. Oliva and Stevens would also duet on the track 'Forgiven'. In early 2003 TEER guitarist Shane French replaced David Rogers. CIRCLE II CIRCLE would set out on a German tour in December, supporting SAXON, DIONYSUS and DORO. Despite the high degree of critical praise afforded the album the band hit turbulent waters before these dates when, during early November, every band member with the exception of Stevens "resigned". The singer swiftly replied, stating that a brand new band were still on target to complete the upcoming shows. Completing the circle, the erstwhile band personnel united with SAVATAGE vocalist and founder member Jon Oliva for a series of shows. This unit would subsequently gel into the band formation TAGE MAHAL. Meantime, the new look CIRCE II CIRCLE undertaking the SAXON / DORO tour would see the inclusion of Mitch Stewart on bass guitar, Oliver Palotai of DORO on keyboards with John 'Ozzy' Osborn and Tom Drennan on the drums. Work on a second outing for CIRCLE II CIRCLE, entitled 'The Middle Of Nowhere', in early 2004 included songwriting collaborations with CHRIS CAFFERY and Jon Oliva once again as well as RUNNING WILD guitarist Bernd Aufermann for two tracks. The band toured Germany throughout the Summer alongside BLAZE and PERZONAL WAR, adding a major festival appearance at the 'Rock The Nations' event in Istanbul, Turkey, before re-commencing work on the album. During May the group, working with the SAVATAGE duo of Jon Oliva and Chris Caffrey, would be ensconced in Cabin Fever Studios in Brooksville, Florida. Working on pre-production would be ex-SHUT guitarist TOM McDYNE. In September the group announced the recruitment of guitarists Evan Christopher and Andrew Lee. CIRCLE II CIRCLE returned to the European touring circuit in 2005 as guests to MASTERPLAN billed as the 'Aces High' tour supported by ROB ROCK and PURE INC. Oliver Palotai would act as touring member for KAMELOT's European gigs. 'The Middle Of Nowhere' saw a scheduled US release in late August. In January 2006 McDyne announced the formation of a new project, DORIAN, in collaboration with vocalist Jim Dorian of MONARCH and ANOMALY repute. Ex-guitarist Shane French joined JON OLIVA'S PAIN shortly afterward. Zak Stevens would participate in an "all star" performance at the 'ProgPower' event at Earthlink Live in Atlanta during September, headed up by noted Norwegian vocalist JORN LANDE, involving Lance King of PYRAMAZE, Michele Luppi from VISION DIVINE, Pasi Rantanen of THUNDERSTONE, Mikkel Sandager of MERCENARY, Michael Eriksen from CIRCUS MAXIMUS and guitarist Mattias "IA" Eklundh of FREAK KITCHEN. CIRCLE II CIRCLE set 'Burden Of Truth' as the title of a 2006 album, a concept affair, based on the popular books 'The Holy Blood & The Holy Grail' and 'The Da Vinci Code', relaying the tale of an ancestral lineage tracing back to Jesus Christ. CIRCLE II CIRCLE, DIONYSUS and SQUALER A.D. teamed up for the Flying Aces Tour 2007 beginning in early January. The band had the tracks 'Relations' and 'Evermore' included on the 'ProgPower USA VIII' DVD compilation in 2007.
