By the darkest of nights, Sombres Forêts was invoked by the single soul of Annatar. The first songs were composed with the desire to create cold and dark music with weapons of despair and hatred. These hymns related nature, hatred and despair in our sick modern world. The first Sombres Forêts demo was recorded exclusively for labels at the end of summer 2006, to find a suitable record label for future albums, and Annatar decided to sign a two-album deal with Québec’s Sepulchral Productions.
After the release of the demo and the record deal, Annatar begun the finalisation and the recording of the first album Quintessence. In a more definite style and with a better production than the demo, the album was released on december 19th by Sepulchral Productions.
Drowning in a deeper abyss, other songs were compose in a more personnal style and much more powerful than anything before. Hymns to the beauty of winter and the spell of the night, musically and lyrically more evolved, these titles will be released under the name of Royaume De Glace, and again, under the black banner of Sepulchral Productions.
