The Graviators formed in the woods in the south of Sweden with a vision to write and record music inspired by the sounds of the great rock n roll groups of the 70's. Seeing as rock n roll is dead today as we know it, (everybody's into blip blop music and vocal pitched pro tools assembly line crap rock) we hope to provide a spark in the dark, and really shake your tree. With a mix of heavy, yet melodic riffs, that can only come out of people with the right spirit who grew up listening to Black Sabbath and their ingenious peers, and who work their magic to create a sonic freighttrain, we caught the ear of swedish label Transubstans who signed us in early 2009. On December 11th, at the very end of a decade that can only be described as a dark age, The Graviators selftitled debut hit the stores. Cynics say that we don't come up with anything new. Well, you can be so bold to say that no-one has come up with anything new in rock and roll since Chuck Berry, and since every band from Sabbath to Zeppelin to Stones utilise the blues bar, they're just ripping off the guy who came up with it. But we all know that feeling we get inside when we hear a riff that COULD be a riff that slipped Tony Iommis mind while on an acid trip. That's the feeling we're aiming for, along with the odd curve ball. Anyway, we are at our best when we play live, and that's something that we love to do.
