Группа ENTER SHIKARI. Информация о группе Enter Shikari mix rock and hardcore with a trance kind of sound with synths, metalcore and punk guitar tunings to leave a truly unique sound. They were spawned (like the sea-monsters they are - some say they were begot between two stockfishes) out of a promising rock scene in Hertfordshire (St Albans), England, and were formed while still in school in 2003. They originally played often at their local youth club, The Den @ Pioneer. When they outgrew this venue, and the summer came around, they climbed in the van and hit the road. They’ve rarely ever come home since. Enter Shikari has achieved all its recent popularity (which has included topping Kerrang's best unsigned band of 2006 poll) without the use of a record label. The main benefits of this route are that Enter Shikari have never had to listen to anyone else’s advice but their own. Edges that were once rough (and would surely have been smoothed over and dulled by advice from those with an interest in shifting ‘product’) have instead been sharpened by the road, turning Enter Shikari into one of the most exciting, brutal and explosive live bands on Britain’s screamo and post-hardcore scene. A tent-lifting appearance at 2006’s Download festival saw Enter Shikari step it up a gear, playing to their largest crowd so far in a rammed-to-the-rafters Gibson and MySpace stage. Appearances at Leeds Festival and opening for My Chemical Romance at their ‘Black Parade’ Hammersmith unveiling just spread the love further. Late August to early September 2006 saw the band back out on the road again, with a string of sold out shows and the release of the download only single ‘Mothership’ October of '06 brought the release of the debut Enter Shikari single, a double A-side of live favourites "Sorry, You’re Not A Winner" and "OK, Time For Plan B". It also brought – you guessed it – more shows. All of them sold out (including a date at London’s Mean Fiddler venue which was then upgraded to the 2000 capacity Astoria, which then also sold out in advance). 2007 starts with Enter Shikari’s first trip abroad (including 3 shows in Holland, one of which as part of the Eurosonic festival; and also a visit to Tokyo, Japan for a concert and interviews), followed by yet more UK dates before playing London’s Brixton Academy with Billy Talent. Then it's off on a tour of German arenas with Billy Talent and Alexisonfire in late February. March 2007 saw the release of the debut Enter Shikari album, 'Take To The skies' which went straight into the UK album chart at number 4 and their single 'Anything Can Happen In The Next Half Hour'jumped in at number 27 in the official UK singles chart! Not bad for a band that are still unsigned! The album came in 3 formats: the bog standard cd album; cd + bonus dvd with live and backstage footage from the infamous London Astoria gig and a limited edition (1000 copes) 12 inch double disk vinyl. They have been confirmed for the Download festival(Donington, England) and Oxygen festival (Naas, Ireland), Carling festivals (Leeds and Reading, England), Fflam festival where they will headline the 2nd stage.(Swansea, Wales) and will also play at the Rock Werchter festival in June. Forthcoming single 'Jonny Sniper' is available for preorder now at www.recordstore.co.uk and the accompanying video can be seen on MTV2 now! Where we see the Shikari Ferarri being blown up :( As we speak (May 2007) they are in their first visit to the USA, visiting the west coast and canada. So far the shows have gone well for them and they seem to be gaining a large contingent of American fans judging by their myspace page. They will head back to the US for the 14th of June for a one off show in New York City with Biffy Clyro at the Highline Ballroom which is now doubt going to sell out.
