Turmion Kätilöt (english: midwives of destruction) is an Industrial Metal band which was formed in 2003 by MC Raaka Pee and Dj Vastapallo, who were already taking a part of another band called Ancient Drive.
Later on, they were joined by the other members of what should become Turmion Kätilöt: Master Bates, RunQ, and DQ. At the end of 2004 MC Raaka Pee and DJ Vastapallo, presented Spellgoth, an artist they knew thanks to his bands Trollheim's Grott and Slave's Mask, the two very first songs of their new project. He immediately liked it and accepted becoming the second singer of the band, thus replacing the first backing vocalist whose name was Plastinen (who can still be seen on the pictures from the Festival at Henry's Pub and Kuopio). Today, he can speak of himself being privileged, to be able to work together with the others.
Soon, their incredible combination of metal and electronic music lured Spinefarm record onto the plan, which became Turmion Kätilöts record label, a recording company that has bands as famous as Nightwish or Children of Bodom under contract.
