Circus Информация о группе Circus was originally known as the Stormsville Shakers, a London-based R&B group led by Philip Goodhand-Tait, which supported Larry Williams on his 1965 UK tour. The band recorded several singles in its own right for the Parlophone label, the last two of which - "Sink Or Swim" and "Do You Dream" - featured their newly acquired Circus appellation. The sextet - Goodhand-Tait (vocals, keyboards), Mel Collins (saxophone), Clive Burrows (saxophone, ex-Zoot Money), Ian Jelfs (guitar), Kirk Riddell (bass) and Alan Bunn (guitar) - was then signed to Transatlantic, for whom they completed Circus in 1969, which featured a lengthy improvised version of the Beatles' "Norwegian Wood". This progressive set was the group's sole album, as Goodhand-Tait then left to pursue a singer-songwriter career in the mode of Elton John. Mel Collins, meanwhile, recorded with King Crimson and Alexis Korner.
