Tatsuya Yoshida Информация о группе Tatsuya Yoshida (吉田達也, Yoshida Tatsuya ) is a Japanese musician and composer who, as the group's drummer, is the only consistent member of the renowned progressive rock duo Ruins, as well as the later Koenji Hyakkei. Outside of his own groups, Yoshida is renowned for his tenure as drummer in 80's indies progressive group YBO2, a band also featuring guitarist KK Null, he has also play drums in a late edition of Samla Mammas Manna. He is cited as the "indisputable master drummer of the Japanese underground" [1], a "rhythm section gone ballistic" [2], and the best and largest hope for continuing the Christian Vander made genre of Zeuhl. Along with his participation in many notable groups, he has also released several solo recordings. Ruins (band) Origin: Japan Years active 1985 - present Label(s) Tzadik Records Skin Graft Records Ruins is a Japanese progressive rock duo of drum set and electric bass guitar. The group, formed in 1985, was supposedly intended to be a power trio; the guitarist, however, never showed up to the band's first rehearsal, so the group remained a duo. The drummer is Tatsuya Yoshida and the group has featured four different bass players over its history. The French progressive rock band Magma is the group's most important influence, to such an extent that Ruins' original lyrics are written and sung in an invented language which, at first glance, resembles Kobaïan, the language invented by Christian Vander of Magma. Ruins' material (which Yoshida, who composes the majority of their pieces, writes out in score form) is generally of extreme complexity and thus is often described as inaccessible - potential listeners may be bewildered by the band's unrestrained yet disciplined approach, or simply astounded by the visceral energy of the pair. In addition to the "prog rock" label, the group's music has also been described as "math rock" and "zeuhl." That said, Ruins' style has consistently evolved since the band's beginnings; this is often tied in with the bassist Tatsuya was collaborating with at the time. Ruins have collaborated with several other musicians, including prominent avant-garde figure Derek Bailey, auteur guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Keiji Haino and Ground Zero alumnus Kazuhisa Uchihashi. Sasaki Hisashi left the band in 2003 after suffering an injury, and since then Yoshida has been touring solo under the name Ruins-alone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruins_%28band%29 Koenji Hyakkei Origin Tokyo, Japan Genre(s) Zeuhl, Progressive Rock Years active 1992?–present Label(s) Magaibutsu (Japan) Skin Graft Records (North America) (高円寺百景, Koenjihyakkei?, "Hundred Sights of Koenji") is a Japanese Zeuhl, Progressive Rock band led by Yoshida Tatsuya of Ruins fame. The band released their first (self-titled) album in 1994 with Aki Kubota from Bondage Fruit on vocals and keyboard. Though rhythmically not as complex as Ruins, Koenji Hyakkei still evokes a feeling of unfamiliarity due to non-standard modes and chanting in a nonsensical language. Although Yoshida is the only consistent member of the band, Sakamoto Kengo has been on bass from their second album onwards. With new members, the band changes sounds completely, shifting from folky Prog rock to minimalism to Jazz fusion with the inclusion of Komori Keiko on reeds (usually soprano saxophone) on their album Angherr Shisspa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koenji_Hyakkei Дискография THE RUINS: Ruins (EP) (1986) Ruins (1988) Stone Henge (1990) Best of Ruins (1991) Early Works (1991) Burning Stone (1992) Infect (1993) Graviyaunosch (1993) Hyderomastgroningem (1995) Refusal Fossil (1997/2007) Improvisations (1997) Vrresto (1998) Symphonica (1998) Pallaschtom (2000) Mandala 2000: Live at the Kichijoji Mandala II (2000) Ruins Best 1986-1992 (2001) Tzomborgha (2002) Live in Guangzhou (2002) KOENJI HYAKKEI: A HUNDRED SIGHT OF KOENJI (CD) 1994 god mountain GMCD-012 SECOND ("Viva Koenji!!")
