Northland began in 2004 when Pau Murillo, along with some of his friends decided to make a Viking/Melodic Death Metal band, which had to split-up for several reasons.
In a short period of time, Pau found a band in which he integrated immediately, and he proposed to go for a style which sounded like his previous band, only maybe a little more focused on the Viking/Folk than on the Death genre.
The band accepted Pau's suggestion, and he became the leader of the band, composing all of the songs that you can hear on "The Awakening of the Cursed One".
After a long time, and because of internal problems with the band, they would split-up on an unanimous decision. But Pau said that he'd go ahead with his musical career and that his music wasn't dead yet.
After some time, Pau announced that he was going to make a new band, but for that he needed other musicians. That's how he decided to ask members from the previous bands where he played to join him, and that's how Cristian (drums), Jonatan (keyboards) and Sergi (guitar) join Pau to remake Northland.
After thinking a lot about the band and talking with the rest of the members about some ideas he had for the future of the band, Northland decides that having a violin in the band would allow for a more Folk-ish sound in their songs, so that's how Guzman joins the band.
Maybe the hardest task for Northland has been finding a bassist. After a long time looking for a bass player that would fit the band, without any luck, Eric Vila, a friend of Pau, decided to join the band.
Sadly, after the summer, Cristian has to leave the band because of personal issues, leaving Northland drummerless. After a short period of time, the band found a great drummer, and he joined to Northland, his name is Dani.
While looking for a new drummer, Northland is working hard practising the old songs, some new ones and the covers.
About the demo, we are thinking on remaking the old one, with a new design, and we hope to have it ready for the end of the year. We also want to make a new demo with new songs, and some of the songs that weren't released with the old one.
