Due to the recent rise in popularity of epic folk metal, the expectations of Time are very high, but according to the first sneak peaks by Soundi, the expectations can be met. Putting Time to a single category, however, is misleading, since the 79-minute album contains very diverse material. The album starts with pompous, Japanese folk music - influenced long intro. If the intro does not already do so, the first real song; Sons Of Winter And Stars will definitely leave your mouth open - 13 minutes of original metal, innovatively dialled. Massively underlining is of course the big orchestration. Wintersun drummer Kai Hahto says illustrative examples of the working of the disc: -- I practiced and composed my drum parts for two months, four to five hours each day, Monday through Sunday. Time is a huge feat by Jari, so I didn’t want to pull the songs through with basic drum beats. I hope that the contribution can be heard in the outcome ... The album was designed and sketched out to a large extent through the Messenger. We rehearsed the parts on our own and the music-files went to each other online. So we went to studio without rehearsing even once together. The CD will have seven actual songs, and a large number of interludes, of which at least three contain already referred Japanese musical traditions. Sometimes, the interludes consist of simply guitar playing, of which at least once Mäenpää nods clearly to the direction of Pink Floyd and possibly Ritchie Blackmoore. -- Time is a concept album, the theme being "Time". The album will contain songs such as the Land Of Snow And Sorrow, One With The Shadows and Storm. -- Making the album has, of course, taken a long time, but on the other hand we have to understand Jari. The creation has already taken a huge amount of time and money. In this critical final stage, being hasty has no benefits. Let’s finish the job with care now. The second Wintersun album is currently late from schedule, depending on the method of calculation, one to two years. As been told in the past, Mäenpää has been working on the disc at home and has faced great difficulties been caused by the destruction of computers and other hardware. -- First of all, we didn’t understand all the requirements of such a large project to set the equipment. We didn’t know how difficult it all may ultimately prove to be. Now, Jari, however, has a brand new computer, which is supposed to handle the largest files without problems. Hopefully, we won’t have any more unpleasant surprises. When Time will be released then? -- The final date depends on the record label Nuclear Blast, but right now, I’d guess the end of this year. Certainly, I can not say anything for sure, because orchestration process is still ongoing. It is hoped that all goes well, and we will get our CD out as soon as possible. But as I said, the album will stay living and we do not want to publish anything unfinished. And now it appears that we are going to have an album in which, nothing will be left to bug us. Overall, this is absolutely the best and most challenging album in my career so far and also in some way a unique publication to the Finnish metal history. And, is the band going to tour after the release? -- Absolutely. I am sure that playing the Time songs will be great and at the same time both challenging and frightening ... I have been missing the road anyway, since it’s been a while since I’ve last been on a tour. Last time I toured was with Swallow The Sun in autumn, 2007 and it was a tremendous trip, thanks to the great guys. И инфа об альбоме - тоже от Кая: Intro - примерно 4 минуты Sons Of Winter And Stars - 14 минут Land Of Snow And Sorrow - 8 минут Time - более 10 минут The Way Of The Fire - более 10 минут One With The Shadows - 6 минут Storm + Intro - примерно 13 минут Silver Leaves - больше 10 минут Outro - 2 минуты Если кому-то надо, интервью могу перевести... хотя его и так с финского на инглиш переводили через гугл трянслэйтор ----- "...but the time has shown that from the practical point of view there is probably no Lost Horizon without Daniel (Heiman)."
